It is my honor to serve as the new President of the Lynwood Partners Educational Foundation (LPEF) from 2022-2024 especially as an alumna of the Lynwood Unified School District (LUSD) and a Lynwood resident.

Currently, I am the Deputy Chief of Program and Operations at ThinkTogether, a nonprofit organization that delivers nationally-recognized after school programs, early learning, enrichment, and school improvement in over 400 schools in California.  This mission driven work helps me understand the importance of a quality public education for all our students.

As the President of LPEF this year, my goal is to elevate the organization, increase awareness in the community, and create more resources and opportunities for our Lynwood Unified students. In the school year ahead, together we will:

• Help the District launch the Lynwood Alumni Center in 2023.
• Expand the number of college scholarships and financial support to graduating seniors.
• Provide $100 initial deposit into 200 eligible LUSD kindergarten students’ ScholarShare 529 College Savings Accounts.
• Plan to award over $20,000 in mini-grants to Lynwood Unified teachers to enrich learning environments.
• Continue to support the LUSD Food Pantry by securing additional resources with the LA Regional Food Bank.
• Build the capacity at the Foundation to help scale our impact.

I’m proud that the Foundation has raised $1,000,000 since 2015, and excited to work with the Board and Executive Director Elsa Chagolla to make an even greater impact in Lynwood public schools. Please save the date for the 5th Annual State of the District on October 14th at 8:00 am to celebrate LUSD students, staff, and schools.
