It’s an honor to serve as President of the Lynwood Partners Educational Foundation (LPEF) for 2024–2026—especially as a proud alumnus of Lynwood Unified School District (LUSD), Director of Recreation and Community Services for the City of Lynwood, and a lifelong Lynwood resident.
Celebrating a Year of Impact – 2024–25 Highlights
When our community comes together, great things happen.
This past year showed what’s possible when our community comes together to support education. Here are just a few highlights from 2024–25:
$30,000 in grants awarded to 39 teachers and counselors, plus additional grants to three schools to enhance school, classrooms, and student supports.
$114,500 in college scholarships and emergency grants provided to Lynwood seniors and recent graduates pursuing higher education or trade schools.
Expanded programming at the Lynwood Alumni Center, including monthly workshops and one-on-one counseling for parents, students, and alumni.
Hosted the 2nd Annual Lynwood Alumni Awards Gala in February.
Continued support for the Lynwood Unified Food Pantry, serving 65 families weekly, and secured a refrigerated van to improve services.
Coordinated the 4th Annual Lynwood Run 5K/10K, with 700 participants and nearly $70,000 raised for scholarships.
Looking Ahead to 2025–26
We’re building on this momentum, and together we will:
Award at least $110,000 in college scholarships and emergency grants to LUSD students and recent graduates.
Host monthly workshops and one-on-one counseling at the Lynwood Alumni Center.
Continue to support LUSD Career and College Programs through funding, partnerships, and expanded student internship and work-based learning opportunities.
Provide $20,000 in grants to LUSD teachers and counselors to support classroom innovation.
Distribute $10,500 for the School Grant Program to enrich school environments.
Support the Food Pantry and Community Resource Center in serving 65 families weekly.
Celebrate at the 3rd Annual Lynwood Alumni Awards Gala on March 19, 2026.
Make the 5th Annual Lynwood Run 5K/10K our biggest yet to raise more scholarship funds.
Since 2015, LPEF has raised over $1.5 million for our schools, students, and community. I’m excited to work with our Board, Executive Director Elsa Chagolla, and our dedicated team — Emanuel Enciso and Yisel Romero— to continue expanding opportunities for every student in Lynwood.
Let’s keep working together to create a brighter future for Lynwood’s youth.
